<itunes:summary>About podcast: I-tunes
The “Time to Burn” podcast will feature individual stories about positive change. People, Places and Things from all walks of life will experience situations that cause them to change how they are living. The documentary stories will begin with each subjects unique experience of tragedy. Sometimes tragedy can be positive or negative depending our perspective. Each subjects life path, will have a living idea of change that tells their story. The intent of telling these stories will entertain, educate and inspire listeners about the central idea that change is inevitable and always positive. “All great changes are preceded by chaos.” -Deepak Chopra
“Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.” –Jim Rohn
In these stories we will express the life of one’s “change” for each podcast. When taking a closer look at what change is we see the Past, present and future. These stories will focus on present progress in the timeline of change. The Kübler-Ross model, commonly known as The Five Stages of Grief, gives us a map of how we deal with loss or death and in our case “Change”. The subjects will passionately express their stories sharing some or all of the stages relative to their story. We will often hear touching, quarky, comedic, serious, and even occasionally esoteric accounts from each subjects viewpoint.
About Derek:
Documentary radio has always been an inspiration for me. In the past 20 years, I have worked on many films, still and radio programs, but have never had the means to share them all in one vehicle like the Internet. This webcast will be a work in progress. Almost every project I do has additional points and interviews that fit the radio arena. So the primary focus will be told thru radio, and the occasional video or still will accompany.
The most important subject for me is the truth. By documenting everyday situations I understand the highest truths through my work. I often work one on one with my subjects. I intend to capture the truthful essence of each subject’s spirit. The audience when hearing these stories will get an intimate understanding of the subject’s personality and vision. The current ideas I wish to share are how people can be unified and live with compassion under the most ridiculous circumstances.
I have personally embraced the ideas and practices in Yoga and Hinduism from India, however through these practices I have realized the importance of each person’s path and how they are all unique. I like the Dalai Lama’s statement; “ Religion are like a restaurant, if they had only one thing on the menu do you think everyone would like what they served?” The “Time To Burn” title came from the idea that karma can be burned to be don’t have to live with suffering. So when we do a yoga practice or spend a day feeding the homeless it’s like burning bad karma. There are a lot of fascinating stories that I have heard and documented as well as, experienced around “ Time to Burn” which inspired me to create this webcast. "If you want to change the world then change yourself and soon you will see that the world has changed in your favor." Swami Shiv Mangal Tirith.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>In this episode, Derek sits down with a tea master who has gone through great lengths to learn how to serve tea properly. This tea caller Puer is a great mild flavor that seems to bring out the best in both our conversation and our selves. Listen to his incredible journey over a cup of tea for your self. He would approve its the only way to do it.

Jeffrey McIntosh is a tea-master in the making, a bold entrepreneur, and a man whose love for life and steadfast focus have filled his days with extraordinary people, unforgettable experiences, and stories to tell. The rich tapestry of his life has developed within him a resolute determination to live each day fully—cultivating happiness, deep relationships, and personal morality—all with a cup of tea in hand. For Jeffrey, tea is not simply a hobby: it literally changed his life. Through apprenticeships under Lydia Lin of Seattle’s Best Tea and Luo Wan Yu of the Denong Tea Company in Kunming, China, Jeffrey experienced a new way of living, full of peace, serenity, and meaningful friendships. Jeffrey has devoted his entire life to mastering the art of tea and tea culture, and sharing it with everyone around him. His life can be summed up in one simplephrase: “Be happy. Drink good tea.”

Passion for tea, love of culture, respect for tradition—Built upon this foundation, McIntosh Tea is dedicated to bringing the highest quality Puer teas to the American market and fostering lifestyles that exemplify the beauty of tea. It is our simple aim to connect people with teas they will truly enjoy, and help them lead a balanced life building strong relationships over many cups of tea.We love people and we love tea, and bringing these two together with a sense of reverence is our one goal. McIntosh Tea is pleased to offer you the finest Puer available and we look forward to a lifetime of sharing our best teas with you

<itunes:summary>A few years back I heard on the news about madcow and how bad it would effect the food chain. I was totally fascinated by the actual disease. Its actually a protien that cannot be cooked or frozen out of the food. Nearly indestructible Prion that marches up your spine and then into the brain to replicate and eat your brain cells. Its really had to get it in there hence it has to make it through the digestive system and then into the blood. But if it does your a gonner! I have a lot of information about this subject and know that the best solution is not to feed animals other animals especially from their own species. This is a know problem around the world that canibalism causes problems and can resulty to death. Check out Kuru from New Guniea, Scrapie or CJD in Deer and other animals.</itunes:summary>
